Hello, world?

I kept putting off making a personal site. The usual reason: I wanted it to be perfect, so I waited, which is another word for never.

This is the compromise. A plain page for plain writing. I'll put notes here as I go: things I figured out, things I got wrong, occasionally something useful about the work.

Why now

I've been consulting for a while and noticed the same patterns show up in almost every codebase I'm asked to look at. It seemed worth writing some of them down, both for myself and for anyone else who might find them useful.

Also: I wanted somewhere to think out loud that wasn't a tweet.

What you'll find here

Short notes, mostly. The kind of thing you could read between builds. Occasionally a longer post when something deserves one. No newsletter, no tracking, no popups.
