I build things carefully, then I make them fast. Twelve years shipping production software.
I spent several years at Sky, working on NowTV and Peacock. The kind of products where a small bug shows up in a few million living rooms. After that I was a Principal Engineer leading a team of around ten. Less writing code myself, more working out what needed writing in the first place.
Currently, I'm a Full Stack Consultant at the Ellison Institute of Technology. Alongside that I take on a small number of other consulting clients, mostly AI startups dealing with fragile codebases. I also build my own products, mainly AgentReceipt, a compliance audit trail for AI agents.
How I work
I try to be honest about trade-offs and resist the temptation to make something bigger than it needs to be. I like small, quiet tools. I like code I can still understand a year later. I like working with people who want the same thing.
I work with a small number of clients at a time so the work stays focused and the quality stays high.
